What to test in 14 days

How most teams structure the trial

Two weeks is enough to exercise every product surface that actually matters for a business phone decision. The teams who get the most out of a DialPhone trial usually run it in three phases.

Days 1–3: prove the call path. Get a US trial number, place test calls to and from your mobile, your office desk phone, and a customer-style number. Verify HD audio quality on cellular, on Wi-Fi, and over a coffee-shop hotspot. Try the desktop app, mobile app, and the in-browser softphone. If the trial number is going to be your business number, port your existing one now so you have real inbound by Day 5.

Days 4–9: run real workflows. Bring in 3–5 teammates from the included seats. Send a few customer-facing SMS messages, run a video meeting with AI captions and a meeting summary, dial out from inside Salesforce or HubSpot, and test the integrations against your real CRM data. If you handle inbound, route a few real calls through the auto-attendant and check the AI transcriptions for accuracy on your specific industry vocabulary.

Days 10–14: stress-test the edges. Try the things that usually break on a new phone system: international outbound to a real destination, fax send/receive, a meeting with screen share recording, the mobile app while away from Wi-Fi, and number-porting status if you ported in. Confirm that call recordings, voicemail transcripts, and AI summaries are exportable. Verify the admin console handles user provisioning, role permissions, and call analytics the way your operations expect.

If you decide to upgrade, every setting, recording, ported number, and integration carries forward — no data migration, no re-config. If you decide to walk away, there is nothing to cancel: no card on file, no auto-conversion, and a 14-day read-only window after the trial to export anything you want to keep.

Free trial FAQ

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The 14-day trial requires only an email address and basic account info. No credit card, no invoice, no sales call. Add a payment method only if you decide to upgrade.

What happens at the end of 14 days?

If you don't upgrade, the account moves to read-only mode for another 14 days (so you can export call history and recordings). After that, the account is archived. No surprise charges, nothing charges unless you explicitly add a payment method and upgrade.

Can I extend the trial?

Yes, one 7-day extension is available on request. Contact support@dialphone.com before day 14.

Is the trial HIPAA-covered?

No. Trial accounts are not covered by a BAA. If you need to test HIPAA workflows, contact sales for a paid pilot, BAA is signed on Advanced ($34/user/mo) and above. See the HIPAA page.

Can I test the contact center during the trial?

The trial includes full Business Phone Advanced features. Contact center (CCaaS) is a separate SKU starting at $65/user/mo, request a paid pilot via sales to evaluate CCaaS on real agent traffic.

Can I port my phone number for the trial?

Yes. Port a number for free and test with real traffic. Typical porting completes in 2-5 business days. If you choose not to upgrade, we'll port the number back at no cost.

What about international calling during trial?

International outbound is usage-based and billed at the end of the trial from the payment method you add to upgrade. If you don't upgrade, any international charges from the trial period are waived.

How do I cancel?

Simply don't upgrade. If you've already upgraded and want to cancel: monthly plans cancel any time, annual plans cancel at the end of the current period. See the Terms of Service.
